Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua Tree National Park is an absolutely special place full of character and charm. The Joshua Tree, Yucca brevifolia is an evergreen plant, iconic for the Mojave Desert. It relies on the Yucca moth for pollination, but in prehistoric times it was the Giant Sloth, who used to eat and spread the fruit of the Joshua Tree. It seems to belong to the same family as equally mysterious Dragon Tree (Dracena cinnabari), native to the Island of Socotra (Indian Ocean).
