The second image will play a little bit more on the ‘photography’ part of ‘global photography’. It was made in Rio de Janeiro from a patio of my friend’s house in Botafogo Bay. I had a rare opportunity to take my time to observe Rio at night without the fears for the safety of my equipment. What came as a real surprise was the camera obscura effect, the essence of photography unfolding in front of my very eyes. The world famous, global image of the Christ the Redeemer, the absolute icon of Rio and Brazil has been projected onto the mist around the Corcovado mountain upside down (and I am not even counting the falling stars)!
